  Invited to a talk: What to do?

  my sister texted me last night with an invitation to watch our dad give his first ever public talk.

  i don't live particularly near to my family, but i'm not too far from them to make the journey, and i am on good terms with them, having never been baptised and so not disfellowshipped; they don't shun me and likely wouldn't even if i were disfellowshipped, it's not in their character.. i haven't been inside a kingdom hall since 2006, and i would like to keep it that way; i only intend to step inside one again in the event of a family wedding or funeral service.

  i don't want to be rude to my sister, ignoring the text isn't an option, so i need a diplomatic way of declining her invitation.. i've considered saying that i'm busy, but this leaves things open for her to ask again in the future, and i'd rather she got the message that i'm not interested, without me having to say so in an explicit way.. any suggestions from those who have been in a similar situation?.

  It's a tough decision. I would not go because it would confuse them and they WOULD think that there is hope. Absolutely no good way out of it. Best just to say you had to work! Or had a ingrown hair and couldnt make it. Or youre herpes from having so much worldly sex is acting up!

  Guidelines For Proper Uses For Sold Kingdom Halls

  how does the watchtower dispose of kingdom halls no longer usable because of poor attendance and or merging with another kingdom hall.the rank and file contributed lots of money to keep it active.. then they tell us their not using it anymore.where does the money for that hall go.

  and what they do with the money they get for the sale of that property.

  they certainly don't give the rank and file anything.. and what use will the new owners use it for.

  in today's watchtower it basically said don't expect any results due to widespread apathy and opposition.

  but you can still bear fruit just by going through the motions of being regular in field service.

  Focus on the Sin of Homosexuality

  since the jws love to control the sex lives of its followers, it seems reasonable that they would be freaking out about same-sex sex as it becomes more open in the current culture (thus videos like that horrible cartoon).

  are they going to start not allowing "girlfriends" to have slumber parties or require they are chaperoned by a "mature" elder or older sister?

  One more thing . The young people ask book used to state that masturbation leads to Homosexuality. I'm living proof thats false my weiner has formed finger dents on it but still not gay.........................Those dumb bastards!

  sorry i forgot to update when i was there.. the only things i want to talk about is how they would tell young ones to tell every body in school that their a jw.i hate when this happens this will not go well for all.they had one random video about some kid,the kid said the teacher would make fun of him,but one day the teacher let him talk about being a jw (this parts bs)then some random teachers and the principal walked in for no reason,and he got to talk about to most of the school wtf.. i hate the fact they tell kids to tell every body their a jw once again this will not go well for all..

  Homosexuality in my mind as an adult now is in some peoples DNA . Growing up there are 3 people that left because they were gay. Looking back it was around the time i started being interested in girls they were drawn to boys. This all happened around puberty. How anyone can judge a person by their sexuality in my mind is no different than being prejudice .

  There is NO way that a person wakes up and says I think I'll be gay because I like the ridicule and harrassment . What about the scriptures that say Only Jehovah can read youre heart, Or Let he that is without sin cast the first stone.Homophobic rules and ignorance is what happens when a group of 70 year old men try to dictate Law to a group of people.

  I'm not gay but if I was maybe I would have woken up 30 years ago!

  ok. many people deny ct russell was a freemason.

  i have read articles whereby some have found no evidence to prove he was one at any point in his life.. however, given all the masonic symbols in the early publications including the use of the name jehovah ( the name the freemason's use to identify god), as well as the expressions used such as 'new world, new order' etc certainly raises suspicions.. then there is the article he wrote in the herald magazine outlining that he was a freemason (see the following video 40 seconds in).

  it really does make you think!.
